Selecting the Right NP Grade
Low HLB (NP-4, NP-6) — HLB 8.9–10.9
Water-in-oil emulsifiers, wetting agents in organic media, agricultural EC formulations.
Mid HLB (NP-9, NP-10) — HLB 13.0–13.3
General-purpose oil-in-water emulsifiers, industrial cleaners, metalworking fluids.
High HLB (NP-12, NP-15) — HLB 14.1–15.0
Latex stabilizers, dispersants, solubilizers for high-polarity systems.
Industrial Applications
Industrial Cleaners
NP-6 and NP-9 are effective emulsifiers and detergents in alkaline cleaners, degreasers, and hard-surface cleaning formulations.
Agricultural Formulations
NP-4 and NP-6 used as wetting agents and emulsifiers in emulsifiable concentrate (EC) pesticide formulations.
Metalworking Fluids
Emulsifiers in soluble cutting oils and metalworking fluid concentrates. Improve oil-water emulsion stability.
Paints & Coatings
