Industrial PVC Wire & Cable
DOP/DEHP is used in PVC wire and cable insulation for industrial applications where REACH SVHC restrictions do not apply.
Industrial Hose & Gaskets
Used in PVC industrial hose, gaskets, and seals for industrial fluid handling applications.
Industrial Flooring
Used in industrial PVC flooring and matting where food contact and children product restrictions do not apply.
Industrial Coatings
Used in PVC coatings and plastisols for industrial applications.
Automotive (Industrial)
Used in PVC automotive parts for industrial vehicles where OEM phthalate restrictions do not apply.
General Industrial PVC
Used in general-purpose flexible PVC compounds for industrial applications.
DOP/DEHP is classified as SVHC (Substance of Very High Concern) under REACH due to reproductive toxicity. It is restricted in toys and childcare articles, food contact materials, and medical devices in the EU and US. Industrial applications without food contact, medical, or children product use are generally not restricted. Contact Texas-Chem for current regulatory guidance and DINP/DOTP alternatives.
DINP (diisononyl phthalate) is the most common REACH-compliant phthalate replacement for DOP/DEHP in general-purpose flexible PVC. DOTP (dioctyl terephthalate) is the preferred non-phthalate alternative for food contact, medical, and children product applications. Both are available from Texas-Chem — contact us at 855-TEX-CHEM for formulation guidance.
No. DOP/DEHP is not approved for food contact applications in the EU or US. For food contact PVC, use DOTP (dioctyl terephthalate) or citrate ester plasticizers (TBC, TEC) which are approved for food contact.
Yes. Texas-Chem supplies DOP/DEHP for industrial applications where regulatory restrictions do not apply. We also supply DINP and DOTP as non-restricted alternatives. Contact us at 855-TEX-CHEM to discuss your application and the most appropriate plasticizer choice.
