Polycarboxylate / Phosphonate Formulations  ·  System-Specific

Scale buildup on membranes, boiler tubes, and heat exchangers is one of the most costly problems in industrial water treatment — reducing efficiency, increasing energy consumption, and shortening equipment life. Texas-Chem supplies antiscalant formulations specifically engineered for RO membranes, boiler systems, and cooling towers.

Applications

Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems

Antiscalants prevent calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, silica, and iron fouling on RO membranes. Proper antiscalant dosing extends membrane life, maintains flux, and reduces cleaning frequency — critical for both industrial and municipal RO systems.

Boiler Scale Prevention

Scale inhibitors prevent calcium and magnesium carbonate/sulfate deposition on boiler heat transfer surfaces. Scale buildup reduces heat transfer efficiency and can cause tube failures. Phosphonate and polymer-based inhibitors are used across low-, medium-, and high-pressure boiler systems.

Cooling Tower Treatment

Antiscalants prevent calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate scale in cooling tower fill, heat exchangers, and condenser tubes. Scale reduces heat transfer efficiency and increases energy consumption. Typically used alongside corrosion inhibitors and biocides.

Nanofiltration & Ultrafiltration

Scale and fouling control for NF and UF membrane systems — antiscalants prevent inorganic scaling on membrane surfaces, maintaining permeate flux and reducing transmembrane pressure rise over time.

Desalination Plants

Critical chemistry for seawater and brackish water desalination — antiscalants enable operation at higher recovery rates by preventing sulfate and carbonate scale at elevated concentration factors. Reduces brine discharge volume.

Heat Exchanger Protection

Scale inhibitors for shell-and-tube, plate, and spiral heat exchangers in industrial processes. Prevents calcium carbonate and silica scale that reduces heat transfer coefficients and increases pressure drop across exchangers.
