PAC · Polymeric Aluminum Coagulant · CAS 1327-41-9
The next-generation coagulant for water treatment — PAC's pre-polymerized aluminum species deliver higher charge density, lower residual aluminum, and broader pH effectiveness than conventional alum. Increasingly specified for drinking water plants, industrial wastewater, and paper manufacturing. Texas-Chem supplies PAC in 10% and 17% solution grades.

Drinking Water Treatment
Increasingly preferred over alum for drinking water clarification — PAC produces lower residual aluminum in treated water, performs better at low temperatures, and is effective over a wider pH range. NSF/ANSI 60 certified grades available.
Wastewater Treatment
Coagulant for municipal and industrial wastewater — PAC removes suspended solids, turbidity, color, and phosphorus at lower doses than alum. Particularly effective for treating colored wastewater from textile and pulp industries.
Paper Manufacturing
Retention and drainage aid in paper production — PAC improves filler and fiber retention, enhances drainage, and reduces chemical oxygen demand (COD) in paper mill effluents. Compatible with both acidic and neutral papermaking conditions.
Sludge Dewatering
Conditioning agent for municipal biosolids — PAC improves sludge dewaterability and reduces polymer demand. Higher basicity PAC grades produce less sludge volume than alum at equivalent treatment performance.
Industrial Process Water
Clarification of process water in food and beverage, mining, and chemical manufacturing. PAC is effective for removing colloidal silica, clay, and organic matter from process water streams.
Stormwater Treatment
Coagulant for stormwater treatment systems — PAC rapidly destabilizes fine particles and colloids in stormwater runoff, enabling effective removal in compact treatment systems with short hydraulic retention times.
