Industrial Applications

Natural Gas Dehydration

TEG is the industry-standard dehydration agent for natural gas processing. Its high boiling point, low vapor pressure, and excellent water absorption capacity make it ideal for glycol contactor systems that remove water vapor from gas streams.

Plasticizers

Feedstock for triethylene glycol diacetate, dibenzoate, and other specialty plasticizers used in PVC, cellulosic films, and adhesive formulations requiring high-temperature stability.

Humectants

Hygroscopic humectant in tobacco processing, paper coatings, and printing inks. Maintains moisture content and prevents drying during storage and processing.

Air Disinfection

TEG vapor has documented bactericidal and virucidal properties. Used in air sanitization systems for hospitals, food processing facilities, and HVAC applications.

Chemical Intermediates

Precursor for triethylene glycol dimethyl ether (triglyme) — a high-boiling polar aprotic solvent used in lithium battery electrolytes and specialty chemical synthesis.

Textile & Leather

Softening and conditioning agent in textile finishing and leather processing. Provides flexibility and moisture retention in finished goods.
