Industrial Lubricant Blending
Paraffinic base oil is the primary base stock for industrial lubricant blenders producing gear oils (ISO 68–680), hydraulic fluids (AW32–AW68), and circulating oils for industrial machinery.
Metalworking Fluids
Used as the base for cutting oils, forming fluids, quench oils, and rust preventatives for Texas manufacturing and machining operations.
Transformer & Electrical Insulating Oil
Highly refined paraffinic base oil (Group II, low sulfur, low aromatic) is used as transformer oil and electrical insulating fluid meeting IEC 60296 and ASTM D3487 specifications.
Rubber & Plastics Processing
Used as a process oil and extender oil in rubber compounding, plastics processing, and polymer film production operations.
Marine & Industrial Gear Oil
Base stock for marine gear oils, open gear lubricants, and industrial gear oil formulations for heavy-duty enclosed gearboxes.
Dust Suppression & Road Oiling
Technical grade paraffinic base oil is used for dust suppression on unpaved roads and industrial sites, and as a road oiling agent.
Group I base oils are produced by solvent refining and contain more sulfur, nitrogen, and aromatic compounds than Group II. Group II base oils are produced by hydroprocessing, which removes most sulfur and improves oxidation stability. Group II is increasingly preferred for modern lubricant formulations requiring longer service life. Texas-Chem supplies both groups; contact us at 855-TEX-CHEM for availability.
Industrial gear oil formulations typically use base oils in the 150–460 cSt range at 40 °C, depending on the target ISO viscosity grade (ISO 68 to ISO 680). Automotive gear lubricants (75W-90, 80W-140) use lighter base oils (100–150 cSt) combined with viscosity index improvers. Contact Texas-Chem for specific grade recommendations.
Highly refined paraffinic base oil (Group II, low sulfur, low aromatic content) is used as transformer oil and electrical insulating fluid. It must meet IEC 60296 or ASTM D3487 specifications for electrical applications. Contact Texas-Chem for transformer oil grade availability and specification compliance.
Paraffinic base oils have higher viscosity index, better oxidation stability, and higher flash points than naphthenic base oils. Naphthenic base oils have better low-temperature performance, higher solvency for additives, and are preferred for refrigeration oils and transformer oils where low pour point is critical.
