CNC Machining & Precision Parts
Used in CNC machining centers, lathes, and milling operations across Texas precision manufacturing facilities. Provides cooling, lubrication, and chip flushing for high-speed cutting operations.
Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
High-performance cutting fluids are required for titanium, aluminum, and high-strength steel machining in aerospace manufacturing. The low-foam formulation is compatible with high-pressure coolant delivery systems.
Automotive Parts Manufacturing
Used in high-volume automotive parts machining, grinding, and forming operations at Texas automotive suppliers. Biostable formulation reduces sump maintenance frequency.
Oil & Gas Equipment Manufacturing
Cutting fluids are essential for machining drill bits, downhole tools, and pressure equipment for the Texas oilfield equipment industry.
Job Shop & General Machining
Single concentrate serves multiple machining operations — dilute 1:10 for heavy roughing, 1:40 for light finishing and grinding — reducing the number of products a shop needs to stock.
Grinding & Surface Finishing
Low-foam formulation is preferred for surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and honing operations where foam buildup in the coolant sump is a concern.
Heavy-duty roughing cuts on steel and cast iron typically use 1:10 to 1:20 dilution (5–10% concentration). General machining and turning uses 1:20 to 1:30 (3–5%). Light finishing, grinding, and aluminum machining uses 1:30 to 1:40 (2.5–3%). Use a refractometer to verify concentration in the sump. Contact Texas-Chem at 855-TEX-CHEM for application-specific recommendations.
Key sump maintenance practices: check and adjust concentration weekly with a refractometer; maintain pH above 8.5 to inhibit bacterial growth; remove tramp oil with a skimmer; clean the sump and recharge with fresh fluid every 6–12 months. The biostable formulation supplied by Texas-Chem extends sump life significantly compared to conventional soluble oils.
Yes. The cutting fluid concentrate supplied by Texas-Chem is formulated for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. It does not contain active sulfur or chlorine that can stain or corrode non-ferrous metals.
Soluble oil (emulsifiable oil) contains 60–80% mineral oil and forms a milky emulsion. Semi-synthetic contains 5–30% mineral oil plus synthetic components and forms a translucent microemulsion. Semi-synthetics offer better cooling, cleaner sumps, and longer life, but at higher cost. Soluble oil provides better lubrication for heavy-duty operations.
