Fuel & Energy
Blended with gasoline as an oxygenate and used as a direct fuel in racing, marine, and industrial engines. Key feedstock for biodiesel transesterification.
Chemical Synthesis
Primary feedstock for formaldehyde, acetic acid, MTBE, and dimethyl ether production. One of the highest-volume industrial chemicals globally.
Antifreeze & De-icing
Used in windshield washer fluid, pipeline antifreeze, and de-icing formulations due to its low freezing point and water miscibility.
Solvent Applications
Solvent for resins, dyes, and adhesives. Used in paint strippers and as a carrier in industrial coatings where fast evaporation is needed.
Wastewater Treatment
Carbon source for biological denitrification in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems.
Laboratory & Analytical
ACS/HPLC-grade methanol is a standard mobile phase solvent in liquid chromatography and a common extraction solvent in analytical chemistry.
