CAS 110-82-7 · Cycloalkane Solvent
Hexamethylene · C₆H₁₂ · MW 84.16 g/mol
A non-polar cycloalkane solvent and one of the most important industrial chemical feedstocks — the primary raw material for nylon production via oxidation to KA oil. As a solvent, cyclohexane is valued for its non-polarity, low water solubility, and clean evaporation. Texas-Chem supplies cyclohexane in drums, totes, and bulk.

Nylon Production
Primary feedstock for adipic acid and caprolactam — the two monomers used to produce Nylon 6,6 and Nylon 6 respectively. Cyclohexane is oxidized to cyclohexanone/cyclohexanol (KA oil) as the key intermediate.
Paint Remover
Active solvent in paint strippers and coating removers for industrial maintenance. Effective against epoxy, polyurethane, and alkyd coatings.
Adhesives & Sealants
Solvent in rubber-based adhesives, sealants, and contact cements where a non-polar, fast-evaporating hydrocarbon is required.
Resin Production
Solvent and reaction medium for cyclohexanone resins used in coatings, adhesives, and printing inks.
Extraction
Non-polar extractant for essential oils, waxes, and lipids in natural product processing and fragrance manufacturing.
Laboratory & Analytical
ACS/HPLC-grade cyclohexane used as a non-polar mobile phase in normal-phase chromatography and as a reference solvent.
