Ammonium Bifluoride is an inorganic compound, with the Formula NH4HF2. It is produced from ammonia and hydrogen fluoride. This colorless salt is a glass etchant. It attacks silica components of glass.
Ammonium Bifluoride is also used in wheel cleaners for automatic car-washes, cleaning rust from boilers and pipes, washing oil pipelines, dissolving deposits in wells, and bottom hole treatment in petroleum extraction.
